❤️ AN EVENING FOR MIGUEL

Miguel Sutera, at age 9, a few summers ago, was feeling ill. Realizing it wasn't a regular flu, they took him to Memorial Hospital's new Children's Hospital.  There, they quickly diagnosed him with ATLL. He was critically fighting for his life. After months, Miguel was transferred to University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.

Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) for three and a half years. His journey has included extensive chemotherapy, blood transfusions, bone marrow testing, treatments administered through the spine, seizures, hospitalizations, and other serious complications affecting his body and central nervous system.

Has not allowed his sickness to define him. He has taken ownership. Despite everything he has experienced, Miguel continues to face each day with incredible strength, courage, humor, and determination. He has an extraordinary tolerance for pain and refuses to let cancer define who he is.

Miguel is always giving to others he loves, making jokes, performing magic tricks, cooking, and trying new foods. When life gets difficult, he finds ways to bring joy to those around him.

He lives with faith, hope, and a desire to make the most of every day.

Most of our Sponsors have had the privilege to know Miguel when he lived in Savannah before he was diagnosed and are going over the top to support Miguel and family. As his Mew Maw, I have been with Miguel since his 1st breath and by his side, caregiving with his mom the entire journey. We thank all of you for taking the time to learn more about ATLL and Miguel.

After three and a half years of fighting, Miguel is still moving forward, and now he needs his community beside him.
