Cave Matches are back!

Get ready for the return of Cave Match at BATS Bayfront Theatre this fall with an exciting twist! This time around, the legendary Cave Match is a DUEL! Join us on September 21, 28, and October 19 as 2 teams go head-to-head for the title of Cave Match champion. LoveBytes and The Red Herrings will battle it out for your votes with the winners claiming the title and the chance to open for a BATS Mainstage show on Saturday nights!

What ARE the Cave Matches?? In this longtime BATS tradition, teams of student improvisers develop their own formats and take to the Bayfront Theatre stage to do their thing and try to win the audience's vote. That's where you come in-- as the audience you get to decide the winner! Each team has one night where the stage is all theirs to showcase their format followed by one night where the teams will go head-to-head. We just need YOU to come and cast your vote!

LoveBytes is an improvised romantic comedy introducing JOY, a charming AI guide. The audience suggests a romantic setting—and the sparks fly from there as relationships blossom and love triangles emerge. Think Bridget Jones meets WALL-E when you join LoveBytes on a journey through the unpredictable world of love.

The Red Herrings present: A Stab in the Dark A secluded location. Old rivals, lovers, and schemers. A shocking murder. A web of whispered accusations and dark secrets quickly ensnares the group. Inspired by the intricate plots of classic murder mysteries, this is a completely improvised performance where the alliances are as deadly as any weapon. Following clues created on the spot, the performers and the audience must piece together the puzzle as it unfolds. The twist? No one, not even the performers, knows who the killer is until the final, stunning accusation is made. The only script is suspicion itself.
