FAQS

So this is new! What exactly is this?

The Haunting on High Street is actually two attractions in one: a haunt and a hangout! Groups of 6 will be guided through an immersive theatrical experience within the halls of a real historic prison filled with lighting effects, costumed scare actors, and interactive scenes that span all 3 floors. Then, you’ll exit through the basement to join a Spooktacular Halloween Hangout in the Courtyard!

Spooktacular Halloween Hangout in the Courtyard?

You got it! The prison’s courtyard will be transformed into one big Halloween party every night. Take the mic from our Ghost Host and scream out some Scaryoke, get your face painted like a zombie and lumber through our cemetery, or sit with a psychic and have your fortune revealed. Music, food, games, nostalgia - some spooky fun for everyone!

Well that does sound fun, but I don’t want to do the walkthrough. Can I come for just the Hangout?

Absolutely! Tickets for just the Courtyard Hangout can be purchased separately for only $13. After checking in you will be able to enter directly into the Courtyard through the side entrance. Guests purchasing entrance to the Courtyard Hangout only will not be entering the Prison at any point in the evening.

-->TICKETS FOR THE JUST THE HALLOWEEN HANGOUT ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE SEPARATELY. THEY ARE LISTED UNDER THE 7:01PM TIMESLOT. THIS TICKET GRANTS ENTRY TO THE COURTYARD ANY TIME BETWEEN 7PM-10PM.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are only available to purchase on this webpage. All tickets must be purchased online in advance. Tickets will not be available on site.

And what exactly does a ticket include?

Tickets are for single person entry to the Prison Walkthrough and Halloween Hangout, OR to just the Halloween Hangout. Experiences in the Hangout such as participating in midway games, stage entertainment, photo ops are all included. Other optional purchases you may choose to make - such as from food trucks, merch tables, tarot readings, and facepainting- can be paid directly to the vendor on site.

Tickets are sold in time blocks. What’s that about?

Due to occupancy restrictions inside the Prison, the available number of tickets is limited. Scheduling timeslots helps ensure we never exceed the prison’s maximum occupancy, and staggering everyone’s arrival times also means much shorter wait times for you to get inside! Regardless of your ticket time, after your walkthrough you can stay and enjoy the Hangout up until closing.

THE 7:01PM TIMESLOT LISTED FOR EACH NIGHT HAS TICKETS FOR THE HALLOWEEN HANGOUT. THESE TICKETS ARE GOOD FOR ENTRY INTO THE COURTYARD BETWEEN 7pm - 10pm.

I bought a ticket! Can I come during an earlier time slot?

Please no. You will only be permitted to enter the queue line during your scheduled time. We ask that you arrive about 10 minutes prior to your time slot with your ticket at the ready for check in.

But if I do come early- Can I hangout in the courtyard before my prison walkthrough?

Guests that are taking part in both the Prison Walkthrough and Halloween Hangout must do the Walkthrough prior to gaining entrance to the Hangout. Please only arrive for your scheduled time.

What can I bring?

Costumes are welcome, closed toed shoes are encouraged! But, more importantly, let’s talk about what you CAN’T BRING. Weapons, drugs, alcohol, and sources of flame are not permitted anywhere on the property at any time. Large bags and backpacks will also not be allowed inside the Prison, but may be brought into the Courtyard- please plan accordingly. We suggest only bringing with you what essentials you’ll need for the evening. We are not responsible for any personal belongings that are lost, stolen, or damaged.

What’s the parking situation like for this thing?

While there is no parking on site, ample free parking is available along the adjacent streets and in several public lots located within walking distance. You can find more info on convenient parking locations here: Downtown Public Parking

Is this event handicap accessible?

The prison was constructed prior to accessibility codes, and the only means of access to the top floor is via stairwells. For the Prison Walkthrough, you must be able to safely ascend/descend multiple flights of steps. The Halloween Hangout is hosted entirely in the Courtyard, which is primarily a flat, grass-covered area, requiring no steps up or down for access. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding accessibility, please contact us.

Will this show use fog?

Theatrical fog effects will be used outside in the open air courtyard, but not inside the prison itself.

So who’s putting this show on exactly?

This event is presented by a veteran cast of volunteers that have been haunting together for over two decades. The troupe actually got its start right here at the Burlington County Prison Museum, originating as The Haunted Prison running from 2005-2013. The show outgrew the courtyard and relocated down the road, to a cornfield right by the Columbus Farmer’s Market to become Bloodshed Farms Fear Fest from 2014-2019, and The Haunted Drive Thru from 2020-2025. Due to various unforeseen circumstances with the property, our haunt was forced to relocate once again! So while we’re devastated to be losing the haunt home we’ve had for the past 12 years, we’ve very excited to be returning to our old stomping grounds to put together a brand new haunted experience for you.

All volunteer? Where’s the ticket money going then?

Proceeds from this production will be donated to the Burlington County Prison Museum for the continued preservation of the historic building and the installation of several new interactive educational exhibits.

So this is a real prison then?

Yes! One of the oldest in the country, in fact. At the time of its closing, it was the oldest continually operating prison in the country, housing inmates for over 150 years.

And so this place is, like, really haunted?

A lot of paranormal research teams seem to think so! Numerous tv shows and Youtube videos showcase reported evidence found while investigating these halls, and many visitors and workers have had their own personal experiences. Reports range from sightings of shadowpeople, hearing disembodied voices, being touched, or having objects moved and misplaced. Maybe you’ll have your own encounter during your visit!

Will this show sell out?

It certainly might! There are a limited number of tickets available each night, and we’re only running for 6 nights. We highly suggest securing your spot early.

I’ve got another question. What’s the best way to contact you?
